Will this puppy's spots get darker?

Hey! I'm about to get my first cocker spaniel on May 3rd. I can't wait! My husband had one growing up and I'm surprising him with one. Can someone tell me if the puppy i am getting will look like the adult dog my husband had growing up? The breeder said their spots get darker but I am new to all this. THANKS!

Welcome. The breeder is probably right. You might see the markings become more prominent.
