I had him in my shop again today to rest up his rear left leg which seems to be getting a little better. Now it only bothers him after he's been laying around and then he gets up to move.
Anyways, today after I was done working and waiting on a customer to pick up their dogs, I decided to see how long it'd take me to train Jr a little. Amazingly he caught onto sit like it was nothing, then we tried down. In less than five miinutes he had these two down. We started working on the stand up
Went last Thursday to the dentist for probs and an initial visit to see what all needed done as it'd been awhile. One tooth has started bothering me when chewing and getting tired of only being able to eat on one side.
That visit was free as they had a coupon in the paper and it included xrays. Today, Thursday, I went and had 4 fillings done on my right side. Two on top, two on bottom. One of the ones on the bottom was a wisdom tooth and she had to numb me up FOUR times before that tooth
Last night was Hershey's final test that we'd been doing our most recent training for and been blogging about. Thank you all for following us to the completion of the training and testing part of our journey. Anothe is about to begin.
It is with great joy that I can now say that Hershey is now a certified Therapy Dog through Therapy Dog International. We had to travel to Oklahoma City for this phase of testing as it's the closest there is an evaluator. Four years prior I had it done
Today at Responsible Dog Ownership Day Hershey took his AKC Canine Good Citizen test and passed on his first try!! Yea!! When he let a stranger touch him and brush him he laid down and handed her his foot. He enjoyed every part of that section of testing. The only thing he hesitated on, which I knew he might, was the come to me after being told to stay. He looks at me like, but you told me to stay here. He didn't even whine when I left him with a stranger for three minutes and me out of site. Our
Today I had my coworker give Hershey his commands he knows. With the first one he was funny as he looked over at me as if to say 'Mom, do I have to?' so then she repeated for him to sit after regaining his attention and he did it. Thereafter, he didn't hesitate anymore for any of the other requests. I am just amazed at this guy's smarts. Believe me when I say alot of it is him. Wish us luck Sunday at RDOD!
