Ground turkey crossed off Hoshi’s list

It’s 5:30am and an hour ago I was washing up Hoshi because ground turkey gave him diarrhea. Luckily, he pottied outside and it was after I brought him in when the smell hit me. I didn’t give him much maybe less than half of his even meal as a treat. He does okay with ham so that will continue to be his treat.

Bath day was yesterday

Blogging this helps remind me when Frontline is due. Hoshi feels so soft and fluffy after his bath. I did trim his face and gave him a butch topknot which didn’t turn out well. I tried to dry his hair thoroughly but he smells musty the next day. Maybe it’s his undercoat. It was still damp. I can’t get to it as well. Our Oster A5 came with a free cordless trimmer. Very nice and light but Hoshi hates it, “What the heck is that!?” It made easy work of his lips and chin.

Hoshi gets loose

I was taking out the garbage in the garage this early this morning and forgot the door was up. Hoshi saw it open then had a look on his face like, “I’m free! HAHAHA!” He took off running including running across the street but came to his senses. He waited across the street for me to call him then came when I did. No scolding. I praised him for coming back after his minute of insanity. We still have a long way to go but we’re making progress.

Hoshi’s bath

Stinky boy needed a bath about 2 weeks ago but I thought I’d wait a month in time for his next Frontline treatment. We just finished. Smells much better. Still a little damp. He needs a trim. I did his paw pads to give him a better grip on the ice. We’re going for going for a walk to help dry out his coat.

Hoshi knocked me down twice

Yesterday was warm and the piles of snow started to melt. It was like a maze walking him yesterday because of all the puddles on the sidewalk. Well, this morning things froze over. I was walking Hoshi and complimenting myself on how sure-footed I was on the ice. Then Hoshi heard some men working on a chimney with a jackhammer. He started pulling on his leash towards the workers. Walking on ice is one thing but Hoshi pulling as well was too much. He knocked me down twice. I still don’t know what’s so special about a jackhammer. Funny, Hoshi is terribly interested in loud motorcycles too.
