Hoshi had his bath

I think Hoshi went 2 months without a bath. He was scratching and I found a flea on me last night. I gave him a bath with flea shampoo. Found a couple dead/dying ones on him when drying him off. I trimmed his paws and ears on the inside. Didn’t do his face–we were both too tired.

Anyways, he’s comfy and getting some rest now that the fleas are gone.

Hoshi stepped on sandburs today

I was walking Hoshi this morning and he was trailing behind me. When he stops I tug his leash and get him moving again. Well, he stopped behind me so I tugged and he toppled over. That was unusual. Then he stopped again. This time he’s lying on the grass and starts licking his leg. He had a bunch of painful sandburs on his rear paw. I picked them out carefully and checked his other paws. I hate those things. They’re razor sharp.

Very hot here in Michigan

I had time so I gave Hoshi his bath and trim early. He was getting stinky anyways. His trim was just a touch up mostly of his paws and face. I did trim his length down again with a #7. I included a flea dip. I didn’t find any on him but I did see one this morning on the kitchen floor. It may have come from outside since we just came in from a walk.

It’s been in the 90’s the past couple of days. Hoshi doesn’t even want to go for a walk when it’s this hot. Hoshi doesn’t deal well with the heat compared to Gabby. I heard on the news the Humane Society is getting a lot of calls about dogs left out in the heat. Our air conditioner is running nonstop. It can’t even keep up. We have it set to 74 and it was 77 early last evening.

Another bath and trim

I gave Hoshi his bath. I replaced a light fixture in the basement so I could finally see what I was doing. I also gave Hoshi a flea dip during his bath so I wouldn’t get bitten like last time (No bites! Yay!). I trimmed him down again with a #7 blade. It’s been hot lately. He looks cute in his summer cut. His Booster Bath has been looking gross so I took out the mat and scrubbed it and the bath as well.

Hoshi has been minding me more and more. He doesn’t take off when we are in the front yard. He sits and waits for permission to move. Believe it or not, the other day me and Hoshi saw iguana in someone’s front yard. It was huge (about 3 foot long). It was behind the fence. Hoshi saw it move and was curious about it.
