Remote control model helicopter

Someone told me 7-Eleven was selling a cheap remote control helicopter. I bought one for Hoshi. I tried it out and Hoshi was sooo excited. He attacked it but didn’t break it. It’s neat! He’s having fits right now because he wants it. I’ll get some pictures or maybe a video later when I have time.

A five-month-old buff cocker spaniel is recovering at Second Chance Animal Hospital in Arizona with a broken leg and many broken teeth. An Arizona Humane Society (AHS) employee brought Payton, the cocker spaniel, in for treatment after a bystander reported seeing the dog being thrown from a car on Interstate 17 on or about August 17, 2011. Once released from the hospital, Payton will finish her recovery in foster care then hopefully find a loving home. The AHS is asking their Facebook friends to donate $5.00 to help Payton and other needy animals in their care. AHS on Facebook

Staying at the Red Roof Inn

Me and Hoshi are sleeping at the Red Roof Inn because our power is out and I need power for my CPAP machine. I have sleep apnea and stop breathing in my sleep. You can see my machine on the night stand. Hoshi is all excited checking everything out.

Canada curbs U.S. cocker spaniel euthanasia

High kill rates in U.S. animal shelters have always been a problem. The recession which began in 2008 added to the problem. A Canadian cocker spaniel rescue is lending a hand to California which has one of the highest pet euthanasia rates in the nation. Angels Under Our Wings Cocker Spaniel Rescue (AUOWCSR) of Victoria, British Columbia is rescuing cocker spaniels from the Los Angeles area at risk of euthanasia. “We rescue abandoned Cocker Spaniels mostly from high kill shelters in Los Angeles that through no fault of their own have ended up in the shelter in danger of euthanasia,” says volunteer Sarah Drader.

AUOWCSR Spends on average $700 – 900 caring for each rescue. “Some have cost us thousands of dollars,” says Drader. If you would like to donate or are interested in fostering please visit www.angelsunderourwings.com

Bath time came early

Just a couple weeks early I think. Cathy said he was stinky. He had been scratching too and I forgot when I applied his frontline. I’m pretty sure it’s been over a month according to sticker on the calendar. I have some insect bites on me. I think it’s fleas. I’m glad I bathed Hoshi because I found dried poo on his rear. It took a long time to get off–I let him soak for awhile. I’m sure he was uncomfortable. I noticed the day before him scooting on the floor.

Hoshi’s stools have been soft. I’m not sure why. Maybe I’m giving him too many ham treats. Next time I trim him I’ll do a thorough job on his rear. Maybe that will help.

He’s becoming quite a “daddy’s dog.” Cathy says he looks for me whenever I’m not home and drives her crazy. We’ve been walking more lately. It’s almost been a year since I broke my foot. I’m still stiff when I first get out of bed. I can’t walk for miles (over 2) like I used to. My foot will hurt if I overdo it. Hoshi loves his walks! We see a bunny or two every evening.
