Fungal skin infection

My 9 year old cocker spaniel has suddenly developed a severe fungal skin infection affecting her ears, her paws and legs. The vet put her on steroids and advised I put her on a hypoallergenic food diet.
I’m using medicated shampoo twice a week.
She’s off the steroids now but the red sore paws and itchy ears are coming back again.
Has anyone had the same problem and what have you done to sort it out? Thanks in advance

Poor baby. I'm sure you are doing everything you can for her. Sometimes these skin problems are so hard to beat. I guess that if I had that problem with my cocker, I would have a complete blood workup done, to be sure allergies are not making things worse. I home cook for
my boy because he's had a couple seizures, just to be safe. I would also make sure she's getting all the amino acids she needs, and this especially,
keep her coat very short, and, don't allow her to air dry, blow her coat dry especially in the areas where she has the problem. If she licks, the cone
goes back on.
