Advice for ear problem

I'm new to forum's. However, I know nothing about Cocker Spaniels. Absolutely nothing. My babies name is Jack or Jax. He has hyperthiroid disease, I have drops that I have to use for his ears, and he has dermatitis. I put coconut oil on him everywhere. I also use a spray our groomer gave us. It works really good! My problem is the ears too. They smell so bad. I've taken him to the vets and he has drops for his ears and his eye. What advice can someone can give me?

Cockers have long floppy ears and the hair can grow quite long. Trimming their ears and keeping them dry will help prevent trapped moisture. If that doesn't help take him to the vet.

I will do that. I couldn't afford the groomer. So I cut the hair back on his entire body and the smell has almost gone away. Thank You so much for the advice. It worked great!

I'm glad it was a simple fix. You don't have to trim the whole body. Just the inside ear flap and around the ear.
