I bought a puppy that is said to be a pure breed “Working Cocker Spaniel” but with everyday I don’t think more and more that it’s a cocker spaniel. What do you think she is?
I believe by "working" you mean field spaniel. He/she doesn't quite look like the field spaniels I've seen but he/she's still a pup. Some facial features do look like a terrier. The ears are definitely cocker. Here's some field spaniels I photographed: Detroit AKC Dog Show 2010 – Page 3 – My Cocker Spaniel
I'm in the USA so maybe field spaniels look different in the UK.
Looks cocker to me.
Mine is a working cocker and he looks more like a Dalmatian, according to my brother!
When I was researching the breed I discovered there is a lot of variety, and they go through stages as they grow up so you won't know for sure until she's fully grown. I don't think it matters unless you plan to show her, she'll love you just the same. And she's already a heartbreaker!
Definitely English Cocker eyes....when mine was little she was fish eyed....it looked like her eyes were on the side rather than the front of her head. I agree with Poptart....you get a lot of variety when you talk working cockers....the point to the breeding program for a working dog is all about performance and not about certain sizes and shapes of body type or coat quality. The fur was kind of different....those looked like wire top hairs on the coat.....puppy coats are rather fuzzy and downy, right? That made me question the purebred status. Maybe only part cocker but 100 percent cute!!
