Of course, I did have to go back and pick up what she got all over. Lots of times, I'll either tie the hay so she can't do that, or tie her up so she can't "help".

You could let the horses clean it up for you

More often than not, they just walk all over any hay that's scattered between the hay stall and the field. So, it gets wasted.
