I'm kind of worrying about DJ.. she is in Washington and with all that flooding, I hope she is okay..

Anyone else in the flood area? If so please check in.

Not under water here

Hi Polly,

We are fine, there is a lot of water around us thought. I live about 20 miles north of Seattle and while some of the little creeks around our neighborhood are stretching their banks most of the major rivers are on grounds lower than we are, but boy is there lots of flooding all around Western Washington. Most major rivers north and south are flooding.

It was raining so hard for the last couple of days that I thought we should all chip in and build an ark. But good news the skys were lighter today and hopefully with a few days of no rain will slow the rivers.

My sister who lives in the Kelso area had to evacuate to a hotel, not due to flooding but because the house above hers is sliding and so until the hillside stablizes and can be examined whe will be living in the hotel.

Keep those who are flooded in your prayers.

I'm glad you're safe DJ. I'm flying to Abbotsford BC on Wednesday the 14th and driving to Portland, OR and I'm pretty worried about the roads. We're going to be on the I-5 most of the way, as long as it's open.

Anyhow, stay safe and stay dry. Hopefully there's no need for an ark anytime soon.

Hope fully the roads will be clear by then, there is a website that you can view that will tell you where the problems are..I will find it and post it for you. I think that right now the only problem is the southern part of I-5 between Seattle and Portland.

Glad you are OK... Saw awful pics of flooding in your neck of the woods on the news last night. Such distruction... I feel so sorry for those who have lost so much. Prayers going out to all of them. We are to get a major snow storm this weekend... You are in my thoughts. Peggy & Bubby

You need to add a pretty picture to your avitar. It's easy, just go to your User CP the pix can only be 80 x 80 pix :naughty:

Kelly,

Here is that website for the Washington State Department of Trasportation. It is updated on a regular basis and is easy to navigate.

It does look like I-5 should be opened this afternoon. So you should be good to go. It was colder last night which means mountain snow and less water working into the system.

Thank you SO MUCH! That link is really helpful, and I will be checking it obsessively until we're actually IN Portland on Wednesday :)

I have been only working and sleeping for past 3 days...so haven't heard about any of this. :(
