I need help!!

So my wife and I recently got a 5 month old cocker spaniel, and he has settled in extremely well. However there have been a few issues. Firstly he doesn't want to go for a walk. We have to literally drag him, but this may be due to him getting frightened from a bin lorry that went past. The bigger issue is when we leave him to go to work. He howls the house down, and is so distressed. Please can anyone offer any tips for this?

Bring treats for your walk next time. Give them to your puppy throughout his walk so he associates his walk with something pleasant. Google is your friend. Search leash training, puppy behavior, puppy whining, dog separation anxiety training.
