Article: A furry footed friend's enemy

so if they do get entangles in my cocker's fur, what is the best way to get them out if I don't want to cut her fur?

It's best to take them out right away before they get heavily entangled. A slicker brush (made out of tiny metal wires) is the best way to take them out. If it's been there for days and heavily matted you may have to cut them out. Be careful they're very sharp.

so what is the quickest way to remove them from the fur if she got stuck in a bush of these without causing her pain?

The slicker brush will take it out the quickest without causing either of you pain.

About $5 dollars for a slicker brush. You can search Google too.

Thanks Manuel, another bad thing is the fox tail weeds we have around here, the burrow into the skin, paws and ears. Used to get them alot with the hunting dogs.

For me the easiest way to remove the burrs is individually by hand. The slicker brush didn't work well on Dylan. Diane, the foxtails can be really bad around here too.
