My female recently gave birth on 6-18-12. She had 3 males and 4 females. My question is, the second female was born dead, her placenta was a very watery dark green. The others were red/black. Why was it green? Also, both cockers are buff, and all their pedigree is buff cockers, no partis. They threw 2 almost all white puppies. How could that be? Thank you in advance on your input.

Green is normal, caused by the placental separation. No worries. Black is bad, bright red can be bad, smelly discharge can be bad. Sounds like you have two light buffs, possibly silvers. Buff puppies tend to get darker as they age.... so time will tell what you have!! Congrats!! Hugs, Jen
