Welcome Dot. Merrick's was too rich for Bailey and Precious, I kept coming home to "presents" in their cages. Lady at the food store recommended Royal Canin and/or Blue Seal. We've been using Royal Canin for over a year and they both tolerate it well. Every few days we top it off with a treat of moist food, either Nutro Natural pouches or Merrick's Wing-a-Ling. The Royal Canin does have grains in it, though, so you have to be on the lookout for allergies.
