Introductions

Welcome Pam! Poor Zelda (17 extractions). Gabby has never let me brush his teeth after he cracked a molar. Is that a bunny?! Gabby would have that bunny for breakfast. :p

Oh 17 Pam! I remember when Pookie had to have 11 pulled I thought that was bad..

I’m Pam, coming over from the AOL board. I’m glad to see all of the smart people have joined as well. Other cocker owners have always been my best source of cocker problems. In the past I rescued cockers and hope to be able to again one day. Currently I have Daisy who I’ve had since she was a puppy and this year I adopted Zelda, a girl who was used for breeding. She is about 9 years old. She has trust issues and in the beginning would bite my 4 year old granddaughter but she is getting better. Kaylee says, “Grandma, Zelda is beginning to trust me”…such a smart girl!

So, I've posted twice because the first one didn't post but now it has-- probably operator error... Yes, that is Bunny in the picture. I inherited him when my daughter went to college. I've had one other cocker and a Lab/pitt (we lost both this year) and none of them has ever bothered Bunny. When Zelda came I told her "leave it" and it hasn't been a problem. They do all steal his carrots.

Hmmm...no one bothers the bunny. That bunny must be the alpha male of the pack. Just kidding. You certainly have well behaved dogs and Zelda has a pretty coat. Sorry to hear you lost 2 of your furbabies. A dog stealing a bunny's carrots is something I have to see.

You may have not seen your post because it's on page 2 of this thread. There's links on the right corner "Page 3 of 3 < 1 2 3." Let me know if you need any help.

Welcome to our new members!

I noticed that we have a few new members!

Please take a moment to introduce yourselves! And, those that registered before the Holidays, please re-introduce yourselves.

I'm Polly, and I live with my hubby Michael and our 4 cockers in the forests above Los Angeles, actually above the Santa Clarita valley.

I work at the Vitamin Shoppe, and hubby is a professional artist who works at home.

2008 was a very hard year for us. We lost 3 of our cocker family from February to the end of March 2008. I am just now bubbling up and feeling better. We have one new cocker, a chocolate boy who will be 6 on March 9th.

Our cockers are:
Petunia a blind and almost deaf Blue Roan girl of about 13(ish) we think maybe older.

Pepper our black & tan boy of 9 who we have had since 2001.

Pogo our buff boy who is 4 and we have had since he was about 6 months old.

Petunia, Pepper and Pogo are rescues.

Stormy is a retired show dog who Robin of Stormbeau cockers trusted us with in November.

Hi from Canada

Looking in your members list, I seem to be the only one from Canada. How strange that is.

Hi my name is Kathleen. When I was young my parents bread, showed and raised ACS. We had many CKC Champions, and I loved them all. I knew when I grew up this was going to be a dog I would get. They are great with kids, as I knew, and absolutley beautiful when groomed properly. My parents had their own Kennel name "Yellow Quill Cockers" in Alberta back in the late 60' early 70's. When we moved to BC we had 5 adults and many pups.

My husband and I bought our precious Cocker/Poodle cross Halloween night. He has been an uplift in spirits in the house after my husband lost his job after 14 yrs with Paramount Pictures. As you can see in the pictures he is a joy to play with and is training so well. When we bought him, at 2 months, he was already paper trained, walked on a leash, and knew sit/stay.

I am hoping in time to get another.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

Coco is now 4 months old and a joy to have around.

Welcome Coco's Mom! I checked out Coco's album and loved his puppy pics. He's grown fast. He almost looked grown in the New Year's pic. I'd like to have more Canadian members--many were in the photo contest over the years.

Welcome Kathleen & Coco!!!
I will check out your album after posting! We sure would love to have more Canadian members. You will enjoy this list. Manuel just converted from the old MSN groups. We are hoping that this will take off and be active and that we can all grow close.

Welcome again!

Kathleen!
I checked out Coco's pictures. Beautiful, beautiful.. and if there is any poodle in him I'll eat my hat (if I wore one ;))

I'm Karen and I live in Northern California. My husband works for a winery. We have two cocker spaniels, Dylan and Riley. Dylan is 7. We got him from his marvelous breeder when we lived in Indiana. Riley is about 10 or 11. We got him from Pam and cocker rescue almost 5 years ago. Our DD at school in IN, has a buff cocker spaniel girl named Eloise. She is about 2 or 3. Our DS, the rebel, who is at grad school in MS has a black lab mix, Knute. All were home here for Christmas and all the people and dogs got along well

Welcome Karen. I'm looking forward to hearing more about Dylan and Riley. I'm not familiar with the AOL group many of you are from. I'd like to hear more about Pam and the rescue Riley came from. Your Christmas sounds neat with everyone and their dogs getting together. I'd love to see pictures of Dylan and Riley. Please place some in your album when you have a chance. :)

I just joined tonight...thanks for sharing the info Polly.......i am so sick of that AOL board...

Anywhooo......I am Karie ..married and have 3 children. My oldest is adopted and just turned 13 (yikes!)...my two youngest are 7 and 6....

We have a beautiful red cocker named Annie...she is 3yrs old. Been on the hunt for an additional cocker, but no luck yet. We are so spoiled with Annie....she is a GREEEAAATTT dog. Totally housetrained, doesn't get into anything, doesn't bark, doesn't dig.....just loves us to death. She really is a zero problem girl. So worried to go through puppy stage again and regret it lol

Anyways...looking forward to being part of this new forum :) I am on another forum that is set up the same way, so nice to be on familiar ground.

Happy New Year!

Welcome aboard Karie. The list is growing. And yes, it looks like the AOL board is pretty much kaput. Looks like this board will be alot better though. I really like this format too. :D

Waving Hi to Karrie and Annie!
I'm so glad you came over from AOL.

Hi Kathleen! Now you are not the only Canadian here with us! We have Kelly now also!

Hope you had a great New Years Holiday :D

Yes Mike! This board is going to be great!
I emailed Mark today, hopefully he will be back posting also.
I know he's busy with showing his lovely EC's though.

Hi everyone! I'm so happy that Polly sent an email about this forum -- now I know where everyone was!
My name is Diane (was "standdi" on aol board). I live in the San Francisco area with hubby and one cocker, Maggie, who is 14 years old! She's in pretty good health even though she's had seizures since she was 2. Her main problem now is a arthritis in a hind leg but she's getting adaquin(sp?) injections and they seem to be working. We also have a cat who is 8 and a conure parrot who is soooo funny!
I'm happy to be here. A big wave to everyone.

I am so late in doing this!!! My name is Dee Dee and I live in West Hills, Ca. (West San Fernando Valley) outside of Los Angeles. Married to Phil, daughter Stephanie is 21, and son Ben is 18. Patch is our 3rd Cocker Spaniel and he is 6 now and the best one yet; sweet as can be! We have 2 cats, Abby 12 and Jack 11 (found him in a bush at 2 weeks old). Jack is a very large boy, I will figure out how to post some pictures (or ask Polly!). I have so many cat stories that I could write a book, most of them not good either!

Welcome Dee Dee, Patch, Abby and Jack! Glad to have you and thanx for the introduction. If you can make an avatar, you can post pics so don't worry. ;)
